A giddy live act and analogue fetishist of the bottom end kind. Bass Clef’s live show bypasses laptop/looping and embraces a heavy and warm sound that has been described as ‘dubstep not dubstep’ this is a catchy title as Bass Clef is not a neat and tidy genre artist. Armed with his effects,  trombone and percussive instruments of choice BC is a rough and ready mix of dance(hall) inspirations – 21st Century urban roots music, Caribbean rhythms, fcked up glitch, hypnotic brass and classic ‘hands in the air’ rave dynamics with all swirl around the Bass Clef sound-system experience. Ringing cow-bells, woozy trombone blasts and theremin effects all spicing up his deep, deliciously rhythmic undertow. He is a heady combination of big bass, dirty high-end and lilting melodies floating through trks.  He has a large than life stage presence so hug him…the hairiest man in dubstep.

A firm festival favourite he has played Bloc, Sonar, Big Chill, Glade, Venn, Free Funk. As happy in a club (Fabric, Sub Club, Corsica Studios with Perverlist, Toddla T, Benga, Pole, Omar Souleyman, Pinch) or on the live circuit playing with Konono No1, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Lee Perry, Shackleton) live Bass Clef unstraightens any dancefloor.
